A look back at the E70 X5

The E70 X5 was built between late 2006 and mid 2013 with both I6 and V8 engines. There are several questions that potential owners struggle with:

Q. Is the E70 X5 a daily driver?

A. Yes. For the weight and size, the I6 can be considered “fuel efficient” with an average of 16 MPG city, 23 MPG highway, and 19 MPG combined. With driving conditions that include 70% stop and go and 30% highway, the average driver can expect 17.5 MPG. It’s also a comfortable vehicle to drive.

Q. Is the E70 X5 reliable/dependable?

A. Yes. As with any automobile there are recommended service intervals and maintenance schedules. You can expect a J.D Power 100-Point Score of  approximately 70 – 90 reliability/dependability. This score is based on the first  three years of ownership experience and mechanical problems with engine/transmission.

This second generation X5 has a timeless design. Current owners still admire the stylish shape and potential owners will experience the same.

Is it “Irie” to drive? Yes, with 3.5 Irie stars.
